About NJCL

The National Junior Classical League is an organization
sponsored by the American Classical League. This organization is for high school students enrolled or interested in the Classical studies. Established in
1936, and currently composed of 1,200 international chapters, NJCL seeks to promote the study of the classics, Latin and Greek, to both students and
teachers; to go on, it also aspires to convey an understanding of the culture of Classical antiquity and the debt of our current cultures to that of theirs. Members of the club become truly involved and refined.

NJCL is relatively new to the Somerset family, and this year, we
aspire to become more involved in NJCL events, such as the Certamen, and in
expanding the culture of Classical antiquity to our community! Have you heard?…it
is epidemic!
