As we discussed, we are looking to establish a chapter of the Junior Classical League here at Somerset Academy. What I want you to do is leave a response stating what kind of things you would like to accomplish this year as a founding member of the JCL. Maybe you want to run for office? Maybe you want to help plan a class field trip? Talk about it here!

I would totally run for office !

I’m really excited for the Junior Classical League at Somerset! I can’t wait to join and I’d definitely want to run for office. And if possible, plan that trip for Italy

@rodolfoa and @janmaris well, that sounds good to me! I will be talking more about the club and ideas over the next few days in our class.

@jricard That all sounds good. Make sure you keep us all in the loop, we’ll be waiting to hear more!

@janmaris Of course I will keep you in the loop! I will have to see what options are available and the cost first. That way, we can all figure out if it is feasible or not.

Ok, just to update things a bit, there are two major field trips I want us to put on our schedule:

A trip to Orlando for the state JCL conference and a trip to Kentucky for the national JCL conference. We will have to raise some money to achieve this, but it would be a great first year goal for us.

As for museum field trips, I will start doing some research about what museums in the area we can go to in order to see ancient Roman/Greek material. I know that there isn’t too much available, but there are somethings that we should definitely make the trip for. Besides, we can always plan trips out of state to look at the “good stuff” too.
