So, here is an example of a collaborate workspace on Amicitia. Only the members of this group, Colloquia, are allowed to edit this document. Try it out! Think about how can you apply this in your classroom.
Just showing off how to edit the document!
(July 13, 2012 – magistrazee was able to edit this doc.)

Here is an example of a comment that someone may leave for a Doc. Usually, or hopefully, it applies to the document. The difference is it isn’t contained within the document itself.

I was able to edit the doc…I added a line when I did so.
Maybe you locked it at the workshop to show people that feature or kept it open so others would see the message that appears when someone else is editing or maybe the program didn’t sign you out? No worries though, it works now! Gratias!

The feature has a built in release so after about 30 minutes the system will boot someone off automatically and save that version. Sometimes if someone (ahem, myself!?) closes their browser without saving their edits, it may have kept me permanently logged in! So that may have been the issue. I just went back and saved the file and I guess that did the trick!

This is cool.

You should give it a shot! Add something to the Doc! @magistrazee

@jricard I tried to edit the doc last night. It is locked. Message reads: “This doc is currently being edited by jricard. To prevent overwrites, you cannot edit until that user has finished. Please try again in a few minutes” It is still locked this morning.

Hmm…I’ll look into that. Didn’t know about that glitch. I just saved the Doc, let me know if it is still giving you a problem. @magistrazee
